People Living with Obesity

Obesity Resources

Obesity is a complex and chronic disease affecting ~1 billion people worldwide

Obesity is a chronic, complex disease influenced by many factors, including biology, genetics, environment, and social circumstances. At Kailera, we are focused on treating obesity first because it can increase the risk of many health issues over time, including diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and many types of cancer. We also recognize that weight bias and stigma can make it hard to access care and impact mental health, therefore it’s essential that patient support is compassionate and evidence based.

Since obesity affects each person differently, effective care should be personalized to you. Weight loss is important but only one part of your journey — obesity care focuses on improving overall health, building sustainable habits, and supporting long-term wellbeing. With the right tools, medical guidance and ongoing support, you may be able to manage your weight effectively and improve your health and quality of life.

At Kailera we are taking a patient-focused approach by developing multiple obesity management medications to address various patient needs. This includes treatments that could provide greater weight loss for the most severely impacted people living with obesity—those living with a BMI of 35 or greater. We are committed to developing therapies that give people the power to restore their health and transform their lives. Learn more at kaineticstudies.com.
